For a birthday party of around 10 people, the usual question is: Is an 8-inch cake enough, or should I go straight to 10 inches?
A simple rule:
- full meal + other desserts: 8 inches may work
- cake is the main dessert: 10 inches is safer
- want larger slices: choose 10 inches or more
1. With a full meal and other desserts, 8 inches can work
If everyone has already eaten and cake is only the final celebration moment, an 8-inch cake may be enough for 10 people.
2. If cake is the main dessert, choose 10 inches
When there is no formal meal, or guests are coming mainly for cake, a 10-inch cake is more comfortable.
3. Kids’ portions can be smaller
Children usually take smaller portions than adults, so the same cake can be divided into more small slices at a kids’ party.
4. Size and price guide
- 6 inch: ₱2,000 (4–6 people)
- 8 inch: ₱2,500 (6–10 people)
- 10 inch: ₱3,200 (10–14 people)
- 12 inch: ₱4,000 (14–18 people)
- 14 inch: ₱4,800 (18–22 people)
FAQ: Do 10 people always need a 10-inch cake?
No. With a full meal and other desserts, an 8-inch cake may be enough. If cake is the main dessert, 10 inches is the safer choice.
